Establishing a data center outside of North America enables ShareFile to give European clients faster download speeds
Raleigh, NC (Vocus) February 5, 2010
ShareFile, a global provider of FTP site alternatives for businesses and virtual data rooms, announces it has begun servicing European clients via a dedicated EU data center. The data center, located in Ireland, will enable ShareFile’s clients outside of North America to upload and download files more rapidly. ShareFile is in full compliance with the EU personal data protection act (Directive 95/46/EC).
“Establishing a data center outside of North America enables ShareFile to give European clients faster download speeds,” said Jesse Lipson, CEO. “We’ve always been an international company and now we can provide an even better level of service to businesses in the EU and outside of North America.”
The EU data center is protected with multiple redundant power sources ensuring that data is easily accessible during any natural disaster. To protect against data loss, the servers are equipped with technology that automatically mirrors all data in real-time to two separate locations. Full backups of all system data are performed regularly ensuring that no data is lost and is always 100% secure.
Headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, ShareFile is a leading provider of tools for exchanging business files easily, securely, and professionally. Unlike an FTP site, ShareFile can be accessed using any standard web browser and does not require software installation or special training. ShareFile's 1,000,000 users span over 50 industries and 120 countries, including accounting, advertising, law, graphic design, consulting, healthcare, and engineering. ShareFile is in full compliance with the EU personal data protection act (Directive 95/46/EC). ShareFile is the 2008 Winner of CNET's WebWare 100 for file storage and security.
