Ormond Beach, FL (PRWEB) April 7, 2008 -- QFX Software Corporation today introduced KeyScrambler® 2.0 with quadrupled anti-keylogging protection. KeyScrambler 2.0 extends protection to more than 30 popular applications in 6 key categories. Now also supporting 64-bit editions of Windows, KeyScrambler 2.0 is the world's most comprehensive and powerful anti-keylogging software program.

The free KeyScrambler Personal now offers a level of anti-keylogging protection previously only available in KeyScrambler Pro. KeyScrambler Personal 2.0 protects all parts of the browser instead of only web login pages. It encrypts everything a user types into the browser: logins, account numbers, credit card numbers, addresses, phone numbers, email messages, URLs, search terms, popup password dialogs, master passwords and more. KeyScrambler Personal 2.0 supports Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Flock and is available immediately at www.qfxsoftware.com as a free download.

"KeyScrambler Personal now protects everything the users does in the browser, whether it's banking, shopping, taxes, email, gaming, or just plain browsing. And best of all, it's absolutely free," said Qian Wang, CEO of QFX Software. "No other anti-keylogging product offers this level of protection even in their pay versions."

With version 2.0, both KeyScrambler pay versions also make a giant leap in their scope and power of protection. KeyScrambler Pro 2.0 and KeyScrambler Premium 2.0 now support twelve popular browsers and beyond the browser some of the most widely used email and instant messaging clients.* KeyScrambler Premium, intended for businesses and power users, further protects a dozen finance/tax, office, and password managing programs such as Quicken, MS Money, MS Office, and RoboForm.*

Technology & Market
The number of keyloggers--malicious software code that tracks typing activity to capture passwords and other private information--increased by 250 percent between January 2004 and May 2006, as reported in a 2007 McAfee study. Because more sophisticated morphing malware has been developed and used to target individuals, businesses, corporate executives and government financial officials, the traditional perimeter security products are no longer enough. "If you want to provide a comprehensive set of security capabilities," remarked Stuart McIrvine, IBM Corporate Security Strategy director, "you cannot just provide security around the perimeter--there's a lot more to it than that."

The unique ability of KeyScrambler to defeat both existing and new keyloggers, even on computers that are security compromised, gives users a much needed, reliable layer of defense against information theft. Whereas the traditional anti-spyware programs typically depend on knowing the signature of an existing keylogger to detect and remove it and often act only after the keyloggers have already stolen the user's information, KeyScrambler works in an ingeniously different way: It encrypts the user's keystrokes at the kernel driver level and decrypts them within the protected applications, so keyloggers are left with entirely indecipherable, encrypted keys to record.

KeyScrambler's elegant user interface lets users see it encrypting live without changing their computing behavior. Compatible with existing infrastructures and security programs, KeyScrambler is easy to deploy for large corporations and organizations and can also serve as a powerful complement to authentication methods such as tokens and smart cards.

Since its initial launch in August 2006, KeyScrambler has established itself as the leader in the anti-keylogging software market. Currently KeyScrambler has more than 580,000 active users in 177 countries and territories and has been recommended and praised by security experts, bloggers and users in trade magazines, online media, download sites, blogger forums, and email correspondence.

Pricing & Availability
All three KeyScrambler 2.0 products can be downloaded or purchased at the company's website: http://www.qfxsoftware.com without increase in pricing. Existing users will receive notice of free upgrades in the program.

"We are constantly inspired by our users' enthusiasm for our products so it's only natural that we want to keep innovating," said Mr. Wang. "We strive to make sure that all our users will continue to have the best protection in the world against keyloggers."

*Both KeyScrambler Pro and Premium now protect the following applications:

  • Browsers: IE, Firefox, Flock, Opera, Safari, Maxthon, AOL Explorer, MSN Explorer, Seamonkey, Avant, K﷓-meleon, and Netscape;
  • Email: Thunderbird, Outlook, Windows Mail, and Outlook Express;
  • IM/VoIP: Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, AIM Pro, Live(MSN) Messenger, and Pidgin.

*KeyScrambler Premium protects three more categories:
