SeeToo Launches a Synchronized Video Application on ICQ Open Platform

SeeToo, a leading provider of Instant Video Sharing is proud to announce the launch of a new application on ICQ's new open platform ICQ 6.5 Open Xtraz.

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 10, 2008 -- SeeToo, a leading provider of Instant Video Sharing (www.seetoo.com) is proud to announce the launch of a new application on ICQ's new open platform ICQ 6.5 Open Xtraz (http://dev.aol.com/icq). ICQ's open platform allows developers to create user-generated applications and share them with over 37 million ICQ users worldwide. The new synchronized video service is one of the first applications to be launched on ICQ's new platform.

ICQ recently opened its Application Programming Interface (API) to developers - setting the scene for a whole new array of plug-ins generated by 3rd party developers. With Open Xtraz, developers can create personalized web 2.0 content based plug-ins (like playlists, photos and games), which ICQ users can then download through the ICQ Contact List, and share with friends. The collaboration with SeeToo enhances the ICQ user experience by allowing users to share and simultaneously watch videos and is unique in that it takes advantage of the synchronistic nature of instant messaging.

SeeToo is creating a new category for watching and sharing video online - Instant Video Sharing. SeeToo's patent-pending technology eliminates the laborious uploading requirements of existing video sharing solutions. Users can now select a video file from their local hard drive, share it online with others instantaneously regardless of the size of the file, or the digital video format (MPEG, AVI, H264, 3GPP). ICQ's Open Xtraz platform enabled SeeToo to integrate its service as an Open Xtra on ICQ. The SeeToo Xtra makes video sharing and viewing even easier, allowing users to interact as they watch (as if looking at the same screen at the same time), or view a video simultaneously as they chat.

Alon Hochberg, CEO of SeeToo commented: "We have chosen ICQ to be our first IM integration, out of most available open platforms that provide a consumer-grade, on-line and synchronized communications between users. The development was fast and effective, and proved itself to be very powerful and scalable. The combination of SeeToo's unique technology and ICQ's open platform provides an unparalleled experience to the online community in general and specifically to the ICQ Instant Messaging users".
