The Solo 401k is a a powerful financial tool.

The upcoming 2-day Total Wealth Conference will feature various strategies for building personal and business wealth. The “Roadmap to Attaining Perpetual Wealth” conference will be held on April 26-27, 2013 in Ontario Embassy Suites Airport Hotel in Ontario, CA. The conference will cover topics such as creating and sustaining wealth, resurrecting personal economy, and learning from entrepreneurs how to increase business income.

Sense Financial Services’ president will speak on the Solo 401k, the self-directed retirement plan for self-employed and small business owners. The Solo 401k, also known as the Individual k or Owner-Only k, is a powerful financial tool for building wealth. Sense Financial Services has been dedicated to educating the public on the unique advantages of the retirement plan.

The Solo 401k has been featured in recent news due to its high contribution limits. The IRS recently raised Solo 401k contribution limits by $1,000 from previous years.

These increased contribution limits allow a greater ability to shelter income. The new limits outlined by the IRS allow $56,500 to be contributed annually if the owner is age 50 and above. The Solo 401k contribution limits for those under the age of 50 is $51,000.

Because the Solo 401k is a retirement plan for the self-employed and small business owner, annual contributions can be made in two capacities- both as an employer and an employee. The Solo 401k also allows a spouse to contribute to the fund, if he or she is involved with the business. This in effect doubles the Solo 401k contribution limits, depending on the age and structure of the business.

Although the high Solo 401k contribution limits have generated the most interest, the retirement plan offers additional advantages, such as:

  • Checkbook control
  • Unlimited investment opportunities
  • Low cost of administration
  • Loan feature of up to $50,000 or 50% of the value of the account, for any purpose

These features will be included in Sense Financial Service’s presentation on the Solo 401k retirement plan.
