I’m going to explain how businesses can search and federally register their trademarks so that they avoid the disastrous effects of being sued for trademark infringement.

During recessions, many people take the opportunity to start their own business. Microsoft was started during a recession. Budding entrepreneurs are eager to get their new businesses off the ground. But sometimes they miss the important legal steps needed to protect their new business. Trademark attorney Morris Turek hopes to help these business owners get on the right track when he speaks at this month’s St. Louis Internet Marketing seminar.
“Many business owners are wise enough to hire an attorney or accountant to help them form a corporation or LLC, but they often forget how essential it is to clear and protect the names, logos, and slogans they intend to use in connection with the advertising and sale of their products or services," says Turek. "I’m going to explain how businesses can search and federally register their trademarks so that they avoid the disastrous effects of being sued for trademark infringement."
St Louis Internet Marketing expert Will Hanke hosts monthly meetings targeted at small business owners who want to build and increase their online presence. He thinks Turek’s expertise is a perfect fit for his attendees.
“Businesses are fighting to get to the top of Google,” comments Hanke, “and some of them take a less-than-ethical approach to get there. That could really hurt a small business owner.”
Hanke’s meetup group, aptly called Where Is My Business, meets monthly at the Staybridge Suites in Westport. Topics at the monthly event range from finding the right keywords to creating great content along with special speakers like Morris Turek.
The group meets monthly and is open to the public. Cost is $10 per meeting which is used to cover the cost of the room. The seminar is limited to 30 business owners, and it nearly always sells out.
Turek will be speaking on February 16 at 6:30
