Snapshot Scholar Social Photography Contest Offers California Students Chance to Win Up to $10,000

Hot Shot Media launches its second Snapshot Scholar social photography contest on Thursday, September 30. Students from any California university or college can enter to win up to $10,000 for themselves, their department, club or Greek organization. Stanford Ph.D. student, Waqas Mustafeez, won $5,000 award in the inaugural Snapshot Scholar photo contest.

Hot Shot Media launches its second Snapshot Scholar photo contest on Thursday, September 30. The first Snapshot Scholar photo contest was between Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley and offered a $5,000 award. This time, students from any California university or college can enter to win up to $10,000. The award will be distributed to the student, his department, club or Greek organization.

Snapshot Scholar is a social photography photo contest that lasts seven weeks. Community votes help to determine the top 30 photos. At that point, a panel of five celebrity judges will select one winning photo using skill-based criteria. Students 18 years or older studying at any qualifying California educational institution can win financial assistance from Snapshot Scholar 2. Non-students are also welcome to participate.

Students simply submit their photos to the Snapshot Scholar Web site to win an award for the department, club or Greek organization of their choice. The combined award for students is up to $10,000 for themselves, their school's department, and club or Greek organization. For non-students the prize is $1,000 for themselves.
