“Growing a healthy, sustainable solar market should be the goal of everyone involved in this burgeoning industry. Manufacturer quality control is the essential first step to achieving this mission,” says Niewerth.

Session Solar, a leading U.S. solar distributor, project development partner and manufacturer of Creotecc Solar Mounting Systems, today announces a new campaign, Quality Matters, aimed at helping solar installers identify high quality solar products in a saturated and volatile market.

Inspired by current market trends, Session Solar decided to launch this new Quality Matters communication to make it easier for solar installers to identify products that will last the life of the warranty and beyond, avoid financial liabilities, and provide a bankable return for end users. Saving cents on the watt by installing products from unproven manufacturers might save contractors and investors’ money up front, but could be much more costly down the road. When products malfunction or the brand disappears from the market, installers are left holding the legal bag on up to 25 year warranties, and potentially damaging their professional reputation in the process.

“Like any other growing, seminal industry, experienced support is essential for success. Right now even high quality products can be bought for reasonable prices. There is no need for nominal savings with the consequence of risking business, investments or the reputation of your company,” said Elmar Niewerth, CEO of Session Solar.

Using lower quality solar products can be disruptive and cause financial burdens for both installers and home owners alike, whether issues surface immediately or over several years. Everything from leaking roofs to fires caused by solar arcing can occur from inferior or uncertified brands. Failures are not uncommon and are even documented by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) who shares the information with the public to help spread awareness. It is important to remember that even one single degraded solar panel, for example, can affect the performance of an entire system.

Like any other industry, the solar power sector has its share of dubious players who have little interest in the technology, environmental benefits or quality of their products. In many cases, the old saying “you get what you pay for” can apply to many of the inexpensive products on the market. A solar system is an investment that deserves maximum performance components.

“Growing a healthy, sustainable solar market should be the goal of everyone involved in this burgeoning industry. Manufacturer quality control is the essential first step to achieving this mission,” says Niewerth.

In addition to a dedicated online and print campaign, Session Solar will also host webinars with their product partners where participants can ask direct questions regarding the quality of their products. Some of the participants will include: SCHOTT Solar, KACO new energy, Fronius, Creotecc Solar Mounting Systems, Quick Mount PV and S-5!. There will also be a new Rewards program for current or new customers who are interested in participating.
