Sewers who are just starting out have a challenging time learning how to sew. The "Before You Cut" Beginners Sewing Lab being taught by instructor Shannon Gifford addresses this need. This class hosted on provides an interactive way to learn how to sew.

In this first class of the Beginner Sewing Lab series, Shannon will focus on introducing participants to sewing and help them as they dive into this wonderful hobby. Topics will include: setting up sewing areas, choosing the first projects, basic pattern alteration, simple stitches, fabric selection and guidance on using a sewing machine. These fundamentals are essential in order to sew. Students who complete the class will also receive a class completion certificate.

Shannon has been sewing for decades but has focused on teaching sewing skills since 1996. She has been an active instructor for the last 2 years and has taught a variety of classes.
