“Shadowing the Networker” Program Provides Painless Parley for Powerful Networking

Does walking into a room full of strangers to network make you break out in a cold sweat? Do you attend events only if someone you know is going with you? Do you make excuses not to try networking events where you won’t know anyone? If so, The Professional Networker ®, Inc. developed a unique “shadowing” program to help the panicky to the seasoned networker put the fun into – and get the business out of –networking events.

Sharan Tash, founder of The Professional Networker ®, developed this program because more than 80 percent of businesspeople are afraid to walk into a room filled with strangers. The idea came from daily calls and emails Tash receives from members of her free website – http://www.thepronetworker.com – asking, “How should I introduce myself?” “What groups should I belong to?” “How do I enter a room and start talking to strangers?” “How do I get away from people who won’t stop talking about themselves and aren’t interested in what I do?”

“The Shadow program allows me to help clients on a one-to-one basis to create a comprehensive, tailored A-Z toolkit to improve their networking experience and results,” Tash explains. “Preparing to network starts well before deciding which events to attend. After working on all the steps, we put them into practice by attending the networking event together, where I focus on making sure my client connects with the people who should know them.”

Marcy Gelber, owner of Travel by Marcy, a warm destination and honeymoon specialist, was the first of Tash’s clients for this program. “I’m very comfortable in small group situations but a bit hesitant when facing that room full of people. Sharan helped polish my skills beforehand, so I went into the event feeling more confident. As soon as we walked in, Sharan went to work. It was amazing to see her connect with people and then make an introduction to me. I am working with several people I met that night and have learned different ways of approaching strangers. It was well worth it,” Gelber said.
