“Key SharePoint Performance Metrics,” 3:45 – 4:45 p.m.
A SharePoint farm contains many pieces that need to be analyzed to make your installation perform optimally. A farm consists of both hardware and software components - the servers hosting the SharePoint farm and the underlying software such as IIS and SQL Server. In this presentation, Marcus will dig into the various metrics available for the SharePoint administrator to use in monitoring the performance of SharePoint farms - how to capture the metrics, what levels indicate a need for action and the actions that should be taken to analyze and fix performance problems. For example, when should you upgrade to a faster machine vs. when to extend the farm by adding additional web front ends to handle heavy load.
