KnowledgeLake, the SharePoint ECM Company, is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Floyd Bell, previous director of product management, to chief information officer (CIO.) As Bell moves into his new role, former Microsoft Senior Program Manager for SharePoint, Rohit Puri, will assume the role of director of product management.
“The fact that we are able to fill the critical, executive position of CIO with an existing team member and gain a highly-experienced SharePoint professional as a director, is a testament to the level of talent at KnowledgeLake. I have no doubt these recent changes will continue to help our organization capture and embrace the total potential technology brings, both within our organization and beyond,” said Chris Caplinger, CTO KnowledgeLake.
Bell has been an integral part of KnowledgeLake since 2004, when he assumed the role of IT manager. In his tenure, he has seen the company grow from around 20 employees to over 150. In 2009, Floyd moved from his role in IT and into the product development group, taking on the role of the director of product management. During this time he focused on building a team and processes targeted at delivering innovative content management solutions for Microsoft SharePoint.
In 2012, the opportunity to return to IT was presented, and Bell accepted his new role as KnowledgeLake chief information officer (CIO,) a newly created position within the organization. In this new role, Bell is responsible for the planning and execution of KnowledgeLake’s information technology vision, goals and initiatives.
“This is an amazing time to be a part of a growing company that is on the leading edge of our industry. I am excited to have earned the opportunity to be a part of this journey and I look forward to bringing innovation and productivity to the entire KnowledgeLake organization,” said Bell.
As Bell moves into his new role, Puri, a former Microsoft senior program manager for SharePoint and SharePoint Online (O365,) will assume the position of director of product management.
