Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 23, 2013
Metalogix, the leading provider of content infrastructure software to improve the use and performance of enterprise content on Microsoft SharePoint, Exchange and Cloud platforms, today announced an unprecedented level of companies and organizations downloaded the free edition of Content Matrix Migration Express in its first few days of availability. 48% of customers indicated they plan to use the new offering to migrate to SharePoint 2013, while 29% indicated they plan to migrate to Office 365.
“The launch of our free Content Matrix Migration Express edition clearly resonated with SharePoint customers as product downloads were up 500% over the past few days,” said Steven Murphy, CEO, Metalogix. “We designed Content Matrix Migration Express to provide affordable and easy access to the market-leading product for SharePoint migrations. With our offering, we have made SharePoint migration a no-brainer for customers so they can quickly get started on moving to SharePoint 2013 or Office 365.”
Content Matrix Migration Express includes a comprehensive range of features required for fast and focused migrations and upgrades to SharePoint 2010, 2013 and to Office 365 from SharePoint 2003, 2007 and 2010. It also includes capabilities to migrate content from File Shares and Exchange Public Folders. Customers can download the product online at Metalogix.com as well as securely purchase upgradeable editions starting at $1,995.
As customers download the new offering, they indicated their source and target SharePoint environments, which revealed the surging interest in both SharePoint 2013 and Office 365. SharePoint 2013 was the overwhelming destination of choice with 48% of customers looking to move to the latest version of SharePoint. These figures are in line with the Metalogix SharePoint Content Survey from November 2012, which found 60% of organizations were planning to move to SharePoint 2013 within the next 12 months. The popularity of Office 365 was also evident, as 29% of customers downloaded the edition for a migration to Office 365, either Standard or Dedicated.
For the source from the total number of downloads, 37% were upgrading from SharePoint 2010 with another 41% migrating from either SharePoint 2003 or SharePoint 2007. There were also 8% of customers that were looking to consolidate file shares into SharePoint or Office 365.
“This survey data confirms our belief that many organizations are intrigued and interested by SharePoint 2013 and Office 365, but want to show value before completing a full migration or upgrade,” said Jignesh Shah, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, Metalogix. “Content Matrix Migration Express is perfectly suited for these organizations that want to test or pilot a new target environment as they can do so risk-free with the industry’s best SharePoint migration product.”
