NYC Winning Weekend Includes Natural Hair Transformation by Celebrity Stylist Diane C. Bailey

SheaMoisture, a leading provider of award-winning natural hair, bath and body products, announces its “Summer Sexy Hair Makeover & New York City Getaway Contest” in conjunction with newly launched natural hair site, TribeCalledCurl.com.

Eligible contestants have a chance to win more than $3,000 in prizes, including a trip to New York for a complete hair makeover, including haircut, color and styling, for themselves and a friend by celebrity stylist, author and natural hair expert Diane C. Bailey, with SheaMoisture Hair Care and the brand’s new Ammonia-Free Hair Color System “Art of Color”. Winners also receive dinner with Bailey, a SheaMoisture team member, and TribeCalledCurl founder and Editor-in-Chief Imani A. Dawson, as well as $500 in spending money for a night on the town — Big Apple-style. Two runners-up will win $100 of SheaMoisture products.

SheaMoisture and the contest encourage women to embrace their natural hair and beauty, which aligns with the philosophy of TribeCalledCurl.com — a site that advocates for the celebration of textured hair by encouraging readers to adopt a stress-free approach to care and styling through its “Lazy Naturals” column. “Like all women, today’s Naturalistas want it all: glamorous, show-stopping styles that are easy to care for and maintain,” says Dawson. “We’re kicking off with a contest with styling from the grand dame of natural hair, Diane Bailey, and textured hair pioneer SheaMoisture to give two lucky ladies the opportunity to experience our philosophy first hand. What’s the point of great hair, if you don’t have the chance to enjoy it?”

To enter the contest, participants must “join the Tribe” by liking both SheaMoisture and TribeCalledCurl.com on Facebook. All winners will be randomly selected.

In addition to the contest, TribeCalledCurl.com offers readers incisive, sharply written pieces on beauty, lifestyle, current events and culture from Dawson, an award-winning journalist with over 20 years of experience creating content for outlets including VH1, MTV, BET and the Associated Press. The site features humorous personal anecdotes about her experience as an over 35 year-old first-time mom and a Brooklyn, NY natural hair maven, as well as interviews with notable personalities in the natural hair community.
