New York, NY (PRWEB) August 4, 2010
Known for its high-quality home study courses designed to train creative professionals, the Sheffield School today launches a new course, Jewelry Design: Beading & Wire Working. “Students all over the world can learn how to design, make, and, let me stress this, sell their own unique jewelry working at their own pace and from the comfort of their own homes,” said Sheffield’s Director, Chuck DeLaney.
“Our research showed keen interest among people with demanding jobs that may keep them in front of a computer screen all day to learn activities that allow them to be creative, to work with their hands, and to make items of beauty for personal enjoyment or for sale. We’re very excited to offer this new program,” he said.
Like all Sheffield School courses, Jewelry Design: Beading & Wire Working includes beautifully illustrated lessons and study guides, audio commentary on CDs, and extensive video training on DVD, along with all the tools necessary to execute a wide variety of beading and wire-working techniques, and an extensive collection of beads and findings for the course assignments. The course was created with the help of many jewelry design experts in New York City.
The course requires students to submit a number of jewelry design projects to demonstrate mastery of the skills and techniques that are presented. Every project is individually evaluated by a professional jewelry designer to give the student invaluable feedback and advice. As with all Sheffield programs, every student also has access to a personal advisor who is a professional jewelry designer there to assist with the program when necessary.
“An exciting aspect of this program is the business training,” noted DeLaney. “Students learn how to photograph and display their work, and the final assignments require each student to create a jewelry line and market it via an online e-commerce site or participation in a craft show or trunk show. This is in keeping with Sheffield’s mission – to teach creative pursuits with income potential.”
