The National Institute of Mental Health characterizes bipolar disorder with dramatic shifts in mood, energy and activity levels that affect a person’s ability to carry out day-to-day tasks. Author Sheryl Griffin sought professional help after 40 years to ease her bipolar disorder.
“Poetic Ramblings Of A Lonely Mind” (published by iUniverse) is a compilation of many years of Griffin’s written therapy. In this poetry book, Griffin explores the process that a bipolar mind goes through in those agonizing dark and gloomy moments.
Through this book, the author would like to change people’s perception of what it is to be bipolar. Griffin pens a book of poetry that expresses all the phases of love, pain and dark depressions from a very intense bipolar perspective.
“I think that sometimes we all feel the need to be understood and no matter who you are or what demons you battle. I want to be sure no one thinks they are alone in their quest for balance and the search for love of self despite the minds conditioning,” the author tells.

About the Author
Sheryl Griffin spent the majority of her life battling the demons of bipolar all alone with nothing but her racing mind and a pad and pen. It was only after her children grew up that she started to seek professional help to balance herself with the use of medication. Griffin raised her two children, Christopher and Samantha, alone. She now basks in the glory of helping to raise her granddaughter in a similar fashion. Griffin has a cleaning business that pays the bills and affords her the flexibility to continue to write when inspiration hits. She is currently in a relationship that has lasted eight whole years, the longest relationship to date.
