Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) September 06, 2012
Shoes on Solano, a Berkeley shoe shop with locations at both 1770 and 1774 Solano Ave. offering fashion comfort women's footwear and kids' shoes, is currently preparing for the 38th annual Solano Avenue Stroll on Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. As the largest street fair in the East Bay, the U.S. Library of Congress recognized the event in 2002 as a "local legacy," an award that recognizes the cultural richness of various community events throughout the U.S.
“We have participated in the event every year since we opened on Solano Avenue in 1989,” Carol Fabretti of Shoes on Solano said. “Shoes On Solano sets up a booth on the street with ‘Stroll Shoe Specials’ and both of our store locations are open during the event. We will also have free gifts, a raffle and face painting for children.”
The Solano Avenue Stroll kicks off at 10 a.m. with a themed parade and the opening of the businesses and booths along Solano Avenue. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy entertainers, food, juried arts and crafters, rides, local organizations, professional services, restaurants, and shops.
According to the Solano Avenue Stroll website: “This is a family event! We feature a special area set aside just for kids that offers giant slides, clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers, face painters, magicians, and maybe even wizards and elves -- come and see for yourselves!"
Shoes on Solano is thrilled to once again participate in the event and connect with the community.
