Our goal is to make the world a little smaller, a little friendlier, and a little greener

Today, ShoeBox Recycling announced a unique partnership with Fusion Logistics, an authorized sales and service partner of UPS, that will insure a convenient and easy to understand shipping process for shoe recyclers to experience. Fully understanding that the customer experience has to be stellar from start to finish, ShoeBox Recycling knew that choosing ‘brown’ for logistics was a must. Fusion Logistics is working with the start-up to keep customer satisfaction high and costs sustainable.

"Few factors contribute more prominently in involving people in shoe recycling than convenience,” said Ira Baseman, Godfather of Sole at ShoeBox Recycling. “We looked for a shipping partner that will help us grow, provide tracking intelligence and reliability, and allow our recyclers to have the ease and friendliness that UPS always offers. Fusion Logistics came to the table prepared.”

ShoeBox Recycling is proud to be a for-profit recycler of shoes. With over 300 million pairs of perfectly reusable shoes hitting landfills each year, they are looking to change the way people think about their shoes. To change a mindset, they have humanized the process by allowing recyclers to place a note in their shoe, track the journey their shoes take, and hopefully connect with their SoleMate, the future owners of the recycled shoes.
“When that happens, you’ll know exactly where your shoes landed and we’ll know we’ve helped to tie together people from all sorts of communities, from all around the world, with something as common as a pair of shoes,” said Lisa Pomerantz, Queen of Sole at ShoeBox Recycling. “That is magical, and UPS, through Fusion Logistics, is helping us to make this happen. Our goal is to make the world a little smaller, a little friendlier, and a little greener.”

“Logistics and delivery are critical to any customer experience,” said Lisa Klinke, Director of Business Development at Fusion Logistics. “When we heard about ShoeBox Recycling’s business model, we knew instantly that our services would be a perfect solution for their business and that we had to get involved. All of our offices across the US are also participating in this unique shoe recycling experience.”

Today, ShoeBox Recycling works with individuals, schools, organizations and non-profits, retailers, and big corporations all over the country. So far shoes have travelled from as far as Hawaii to our warehouse in Fairless Hills, PA... ultimately making their way to Freetown, Sierra Leone, Iquique, Chile and Guatemala City, Guatemala.
