New York, NY (PRWEB) May 27, 2013
FuneralFinancials.com funeral and financial advice magazine today released their praise of rapper Curtin James Jackson III, more widely know as 50 Cent, who paid for the horse and carriage that carried the casket of teenaged D’Aja Robinson at her funeral service on Friday. FuneralFinancials.com commended 50 Cent on his generosity, and remarked on the rarity of such kindness.
Erin Durkin of the New York Daily News reported on Saturday, May 25th that 14-year-old D’Aja Robinson, a teen from Queens, NY, was shot and killed by a stray bullet while riding the city bus home from a birthday party last week. Durkin states that according to police, Robinson was not the apparent target of the shooting. Robinson sustained injuries and passed away later that day at a nearby hospital.
FuneralFinancials.com mourns the loss of such an innocent, young soul and commends 50 Cent for his act of kindness. FuneralFinancials.com’s Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, “For a perfect stranger to come out of the blue like this and pick up such a large tab for the family of a fallen teenager whom he never knew is very touching. I can understand having a strong connection to the streets where one grew up, to the neighborhoods and to the people in your old city or town. But I really think it’s humbling to offer support the way 50 Cent has done, and I’m sure it just means the world to this poor teenager’s family and friends to see somebody be so generous in such a tragic and difficult time.”
According to the above-mentioned NY Daily News article, 50 Cent posted on Facebook, “People always try and paint negative images about me I’m the most genuine down to earth person and I didn’t forget where I came from I came through for baby girl by providing a horse and carriage for her. She was pretty, innocent and didn’t deserve to die like that R.I.P. D’Asia Robinson.”
FuneralFinancials.com’s Senior staff writer is quoted as saying, “Most people just do not realize the cost of having a wake, a funeral, and paying for the burial. It’s something that we as a society do not exactly enjoy thinking about and planning for, and as a result I think it might come as a surprise to many that it can be expensive for the surviving family members. I can only hope that 50 Cent’s generous contribution alleviated some of the stress that the Robinson family must have experienced while fronting the bill for the rest of the service costs. If nothing else, I am sure they appreciated the gesture more than 50 Cent will ever know.”
Durkin reports in the above news article that over 2,500 family, friends, and supporters gathered last Friday for Robinson’s funeral services.
