Full Sail University (fullsail.edu) is proud to recognize ten years of providing an accelerated thirteen month degree program in Show Production & Touring that educates students in the areas of live sound, video, and lighting design.
Since 1998, the faculty of the Show Production & Touring Degree Program, comprised of expert instructors who have served a variety of industry talent, have provided students with a hands-on approach to education in Full Sail's unique real world style environment. Students work with a wide assortment of gear used by professionals in the entertainment industry, and Full Sail graduates from the Show Production & Touring Degree Program have worked in concert production for the #1 grossing world tour seven out of eight years from 2000 to 2006 including: The Rolling Stones, U2, Madonna, Paul McCartney, and Tina Turner. In addition, over the last ten years, over 100 graduates have worked on more than 100 tours and events.
This one-of-a-kind program has given students the opportunity to be immersed in the lifestyle of a touring professional. The program is housed within Full Sail's 190-acre campus including Full Sail Live, a custom-designed and functional learning environment equipped with the same gear that is installed in live venues around the world. "Being well versed in the theories and principles behind the components of a live experience is what sets Full Sail's program apart," said Dana Roun, Director of Audio Programs.
With over thirty years of professional experience in the Show Production & Touring field, Roun has been a pioneer of this degree program and has lead the industry with several mainstream artists including Bon Jovi. "Technology may change, but Full Sail's innovative program and the consistent approach of our experienced instructors ensures the success of our students," added Roun.
As with each of Full Sail's degree programs, graduates of the Show Production & Touring Degree have obtained the opportunity to work with leading corporations in the
industry such as Claire Brothers Systems and SWANK Audio Visuals who are renowned in the show production business. Others have secured successful careers in a wide variety of fields including sports broadcasting, live concerts and touring, corporate productions, conventions and various forms of live entertainment productions including theme parks, houses of worship and cruise ships.
