We hope that by providing a service of qualified sign language services to our clients we can fulfil the interpreting needs Deaf community wherever they are in the country.

After noticing an increasing demand for sign language interpreting Rosetta Translation, a leading translation company based in London, met with sign language professionals over the summer months and has since added the area of specialised expertise to its services.

British sign Language (BSL) is a language that makes use of the hands, face and body and is used by approximately 250,000 people in the UK. It is a visual form of communication used by Deaf people, those with hearing-impairments and the many family members, friends and staff who wish to communicate with them.

BSL interpreting is a service which involves a trained professional using BSL to interpret spoken or written English into BSL for the client with the hearing impairment and then relaying what is said in spoken English in return. This method ensures that all parties are able to communicate clearly and effectively.

“We hope that by providing a service of qualified sign language services to our clients we can fulfil the interpreting needs of the Deaf community wherever they are in the country.” says Manchandan Sumray, Office Manager for the translation company. “We only provide our clients with registered and qualified BSL interpreters who follow a strict code of conduct. So our clients can rest assured that they will be in the best of hands.”

She continues “Not only do we provide BSL sign language interpreting; our interpreters can also adapt their skills to meet the needs of anyone requiring sign supported English interpreting. We can also source lip-speaking individuals for clients who prefer to lip read.”

The addition of the sign language interpreting service complements the Braille translation services launched earlier this month and the translation agency hope to increase client demand as well as add to its database of skilled freelancers in the coming months.
