Simon Eye Associates, the largest primary eye care practice in Delaware, has recently donated eye glasses to the "Unite for Sight" program. These glasses will be distributed for use in rural villages in the African nation of Ghana. In the attached photos, residents of Ghana are shown wearing their new glasses after being evaluated by a Unite for Sight doctor.
Unite for Sight is an international leader in providing eye care worldwide, creating eye disease-free communities, and offering hands-on public health learning opportunities for volunteers. Doctors involved with the program treat eye diseases in the field, as well as bringing patients needing surgery into local eye clinics. They also do routine eye care, screenings and educational programs.
Simon Eye Associates is happy to be able to donate these glasses to Unite for Sight since the "Simon Eye Cares" program has offered screenings and educational programs to the local community since it was established over 3 years ago. The "Simon Eye Cares" program also provides eye care and educational services to community groups, schools, non-profits, retirement communities and other individuals. Supporting Unite for Sight allows Simon Eye Associates to expand their reach to the international community.
