Janus Corporate Solutions to Assist Singapore Startups in Availing Government Grants for Technology Purchases

Janus Corporate Solutions has launched a new service to assist its clients in securing funds from the Singapore government’s iSprint technology grant program for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Under the two-year-old program, SMEs in Singapore receive subsidies of up to S$20,000 for their technology purchases as part of the government’s efforts to promote automation in the workplace and bolster the country’s position as a high-tech business hub.

We welcome new and existing clients to contact us on how to take part in the iSprint program, or even some of the other government-backed funding and assistance schemes for entrepreneurs.

The iSprint program garnered significant interest after Singapore’s Minister for Information and Communication and the Arts Dr. Yaacob Ibrahim announced on August 24 at the 15th annual Infocomm Commerce Conference that the initiative’s funding support for SME technology purchases would be increased from the current 50 percent to up to 70 percent of qualifying costs.

In addition, the maximum funding amount allowable under the iSprint program’s Business Improvement and Packaged Solutions categories was doubled from S$10,000 to S$20,000 to help companies engage in larger improvements.

“In our opinion, the additional subsidies are a great opportunity for Singapore companies to modernize their infrastructure and become more efficient,” said Ms. Jacqueline Low, Chief Operating Officer of Janus Corporate Solutions. “There are many ways to get support when you want to set up your own business in Singapore. Another example would be the Technology Innovation Programme (TIP), which provides various co-funding and support schemes to help innovators identify the right technology platforms, find experts who consult them, and find the right resources and partners to further their development.” explained Ms. Low.

The iSprint initiative, which is currently slated to run until March 31, 2016, is open to locally registered or incorporated SMEs. It covers improvements through packaged solutions, such as for accounting and payroll, to more complex customized solutions for areas such as customer relationship management and supply chain management. Any customized solutions require that the development must be for the first-time automation of business functions. In addition, it should be carried out in Singapore, and must not have started before the grant is approved.

“It will help improve productivity in the workforce, and will also serve to convince more entrepreneurs that Singapore is a great place for doing business due to the government’s friendly policies," continued Ms. Low.

"With the launch of our new service, we welcome new and existing clients to contact us on how to take part in the iSprint program, or even some of the other government-backed funding and assistance schemes for entrepreneurs. Whether you are looking to upgrade your network’s hardware infrastructure, or improve the software forming the backbone of your company, we can help you avail of the government’s offer to subsidize your company’s efforts to improve and grow,” she concluded.
