Eight at Eight Dinner Club is celebrating its Eighth Birthday on August 8th. After serving several cities in the competitive dating service arena since 1999, the company's founder, Sarah Kathryn Smith , feels it is high time to toast her company's successes. Many other dating concepts started at the same time Smith launched her company, yet Eight at Eight is the only one that has stood the test of time.

Current and former members will gather at 8 p.m. on August 8th in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and Denver to celebrate the milestone occasion. Included in the mix will be many couples happily married through their participation in Eight at Eight. Eight at Eight's staff of engaging hostesses will be on hand to make introductions and help everyone mix and mingle.

"Through Eight at Eight I get to check out restaurants that I would never find on my own." said Scott Thelman, a recent participant. "I get to enjoy a nice meal at a cool restaurant with interesting, fun people. It's hard to beat."

Founder Smith is most ecstatic about this huge milestone. "Bringing singles together has been one of the most rewarding accomplishments of my life. There are quality singles at every age, but as we get older it becomes more difficult to meet one another. I feel fortunate to provide this service to many who had become disenchanted with the bar scene."

In 1999, Eight at Eight Dinner Club had stagnated. Its previous owners were out of new ideas and membership remained consistently low. At that point, Smith, just 22 and a recent college graduate, stepped in, purchased the flailing company and turned Eight at Eight around. She set out to make it the premier dinner dating concept in America.
