SJ Knight, the children’s storybook author who debuted with The Adventures of Sebastian the Angel Kitty: Vol. 1: The First 2 Years, returns with The Adventures of Sebastian The Angel Kitty: Vol. 2: The Move to California. Because people rarely talk about children or pets going to heaven, Knight’s heavenly story aims to offer hope and comfort to young readers by assuring them that their loved ones who passed away are all okay in a better place, through Sebastian’s tale.
In Vol. 1: The First 2 Years, Knight assures readers that heaven is so vast. God has assigned Sebastian the Angel Kitty to meet and greet new arrivals in heaven and set them up for flying classes for their newly received angel wings. New arrivals include cats, dogs, rats, mice, and horses. The story explains that there is even a giant field for the mice and that wings are for getting around because heaven is so big.
Vol. 2: The Move to California further invites readers to join Sebastian, Lily-Rose and Mattillda as they move from the Philadelphia area to Northern California. What adventures will they have on their way? Who will get lost? These are just part of the excitement in the second installment. Of course, Sebastian and all of his friends in heaven will be welcoming even more new friends. Who will be coming to heaven? Readers will soon find out.
Continuing with the message of hope and comfort, The Adventures of Sebastian The Angel Kitty: Vol. 2: The Move to California tells young readers that it is always so wonderful to spend time with friends even in heaven. Knight has indeed tapped into her creativity and her experience as a single mom to amusingly remind people of the pet grief and people. After all, they are all lovable, be they human, furry, feathery or fishy.
