BioCell has played an important role as a leader to the nutritional supplement industry and as supplier of nutraceutical ingredients
Las Vegas, NV (Vocus) June 9, 2010
The first annual NutriCosmetic Summit is being held on June 10, 2010 in Las Vegas. Attendance at this one-day conference/think tank is an intimate gathering of experts and leaders in the skin care industry who are interested in learning more about beauty from within and one of the fastest growing segments of the nutritional supplement industry--skin beauty supplements. The event is produced by the Supply Network part of New Hope Media, a division of Penton Media Inc.
As its name suggests, nutricosmetics lies at the intersection of nutritional supplements on the one hand, and skin care cosmetics on the other. It refers to the recent development of orally ingested nutritional supplements that promote healthier and more youthful looking skin. “The body uses nutrition to regenerate, replenish and support the complex interior structure of the skin—from inside the body,” says Suhail Ishaq, vice president of BioCell Technology. He adds, “Since the surface of the skin acts as a barrier, topical cosmetic treatments can only deliver superficial results. However, the building blocks needed to support the largest organ in the body, the skin itself can only be supplied from inside the body.” With consumers having understood this concept, the nutricosmetic industry is on the rise, and projected to reach $2.5 billion by 2012, up from $1.5 billion estimated currently.
Among the nutricosmetics that have recently come on the market, a rapidly growing one is a patented nutraceutical called BioCell Collagen II, produced by BioCell Technology LLC and available to nutricosmetic manufacturers as a key ingredient for use in their own product formulations.
In support of its leading role in the industry, BioCell Technology has partnered with the NutriCosmetic Summit to be the Platinum Sponsor of the inaugural event.. “We are pleased to have BioCell Technology as our Platinum Sponsor,” said Len Monheit, Executive Director of the Supply Network and President/ Editor of NPIcenter. “BioCell has played an important role as a leader to the nutritional supplement industry and as supplier of nutraceutical ingredients, so it was no surprise they were out in front and ready to enter the growing nutricosmetics market at the onset. The commitment they have shown by joining the community as the Platinum Sponsor at the NutriCosmetic Summit further proves their significance to the industry.”
