The idea of dragging the skip hire industry into the 21st century by introducing an online skip hire service was award-winning entrepreneur and internet marketing expert Mark Attwood’s – the founder – after his father-in-law, Paul Malpas – who had spent more than thirty years in the demolition and waste management industry – asked him to use his marketing and business skills to assist his burgeoning skip hire business. The plan was to create a skip hire service that could offer local service nationwide.

Despite the initial scepticism surrounding the idea, he did just that and, nine years on, is still a family-run business that is managed by Mark and his wife, Katy., an ISO:9001 registered company that is internationally recognised for having the highest quality systems, has recycled over one million tonnes of waste for over 100,000 happy customers since its beginnings and provides a full range of skip hire services across the UK and Ireland from 2 cubic-yard Mini Skips, 4-Yard Midi Skips, 6 to 8-Yard Builder Skips, to 10, 12 and 14-Yard Maxi Skips and 20-40 Yard RORO (Roll On, Roll Off) skip containers.

Now part of a wider company in the form of PAL Hire – which offers all different types tool, plant and equipment hire nationwide for thousands of clients including the BBC, McDonalds, Tesco and Carillion – is built on amazing service that is tailored perfectly to whatever it is that the customer requires.

From organising all of your skip hire and waste management requirements across the UK and everywhere in between, making video demos on Topskips TV to help you in making sure you get the right size skip for whatever size job and even organising your skip hire permits with local councils – the company shows the utmost gratitude as they know they would not be here without their loyal customers.

Since launch, has experienced some dramatic changes during the economic downturn but is going from strength to strength in the ever-changing and always interesting skip hire and waste management industry, despite the contraction in the construction industry in recent years. founder, Mark Attwood, had this to say about his company’s ninth birthday and what he has planned for the future:

“ has laid the foundations for PAL Hire, which we plan to make Number One in the UK hire market. We spend a huge amount of energy on constantly improving our service levels and the way we do business in line with our core values. Our aim is to amaze our customers by the extra lengths we go to achieve their satisfaction.”
