By using Skyward, we have moved light years ahead. We are shifting the approval process for purchase orders at the building level to go all the way through administration so we don’t have the excessive paper trail we had before.
Stevens Point, WI (Vocus) February 19, 2010
Skyward, Inc., the industry leading K-12 school management system, announced today the successful implementation of the Skyward School Business Suite™ at Allentown School District in Pennsylvania for their district’s finance and human resources solution. Allentown’s implementation of Skyward has transformed their district’s operations from simply functional to a model of efficiency and productivity.
According to Trevor Jackson, acting Chief Financial Officer for Allentown, their previous financial management software was antiquated and not as user-friendly as the district’s growing needs required. Jackson commented that the software was slow and produced an excessive and costly amount of paper usage throughout the district.
“We deal with a great volume of timesheets, journal entries, and reports, and our goal is within a year or two to be paperless,” said Jackson. “By using Skyward, we have moved light years ahead. We are shifting the approval process for purchase orders at the building level to go all the way through administration so we don’t have the excessive paper trail we had before.”
In addition to saving money by using less paper and resources, Allentown will also save money by using a software package that is School Interoperability Framework (SIF) compliant. Because Skyward is SIF compliant, it works with existing software that Allentown is using, which assures the district that data entered in one application is shared throughout the other programs, leading to improved accuracy and reliability of the data, without incurring expensive custom development costs.
With localized support from Skyward’s branch office in Pennsylvania, and a statewide user group conference every spring, Allentown will receive on-going support and have networking opportunities with fellow Skyward users. The Pennsylvania Skyward User Group Conference will be held April 29, 2010 at the Holiday Inn Airport East in Harrisburg, where Skyward users from around the state will gather to learn about new technology and opportunities for districts within the Skyward School Management System.
Since 1980, Skyward, Inc. has been serving the K-12 administrative software needs of school districts. Today, Skyward's School Management Systems™ are found in more than 1,400 school districts throughout the United States and internationally. Skyward’s School Management System represents an integrated student and financial management software system designed to keep administrators, educators, and families connected.
