On April 12th Sleek Networks joined Virgin, Halfords, Pizza Express, CITI Group, Nintendo and Causeway at the Olympia Exhibition Centre for the launch of Cycle Slam. The launch evening brought together all the riders, sponsors and organisers of the 2012 event, to mark the start of what will be a very exciting, challenging and epic cycle ride across Europe in aid of two fantastic charities. The ride is now well under way but there is still plenty of time to get involved and support the riders on their journey by making a donation to support this fantastic event.

Cycle Slam 2012

The Dallaglio Flintoff Cycle Slam 2012 is now under way and will see a group of intrepid cyclists, led by Lawrence Dallaglio and Freddie Flintoff, navigate a route from the birth place of the Olympics, Olympia in Greece, right across Europe to London, the host of the 2012 games.

The aim is to raise over £2 million for Lawrence and Freddie’s respective charitable foundations, to help aid both Cancer Research UK and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The event started on April 23rd and the cyclists will ride through Greece, up the length of Italy, over the Alps into France and eventually across the channel to London for May 18th. This mammoth ride will be broken down into five stages to give the cyclist the opportunity to rest and for people to get involved on a stage by stage basis.

Lawrence and Freddie will be joined by a whole host of different riders throughout the journey, who have all raised sponsorship money to contribute towards the Cycle Slam total and the very worthy causes it supports.

Send Off Party

Representatives from Sleek joined Lawrence, Freddie, guests and corporate supporters for the Send Off party in London and what was a fantastic evening of entertainment (Lawrence Dallaglio making pizza!), food and of course, fundraising.

An auction held on the night raised a further £22,500 towards the total and everyone involved had a fantastic time and sent the riders off in style.

Sleek’s Director of Operations, Nick Williams, attended the event and said:

“We had a fantastic time at the Cycle Slam send -off party and along with the other corporate sponsors, Sleek are extremely pleased and proud to be able to support an event with such worthy goals. We wish all the riders the very best of luck and will be following their progress closely.”
