San Mateo, CA August 7, 2006 -- Monsoon Multimedia a leading provider of place and time shifting products announced today that it has commenced shipments of its Hava products that are being sold through its http://www.snappymultimedia.com website.
Hava is the world’s first affordable true wireless system that allows video from any video source such as a TV or TIVO to be streamed to multiple PCs in a home environment. Video is streamed in high quality DVD-MPEG-2 format. Video can be viewed in full screen, D1, at 720x480 pixels.
Through a wireless connection to a home router/access point, video can be up linked to the internet so it can be viewed remotely on a PC. As the up link rates increase from 200kbps to higher rates, video quality improves significantly.
Not only does Hava deliver place shifting, but it also provides time shifting. Users can pause, fast forward and rewind, and record the video on their PCs. In the local viewing mode, users can also burn content to DVDs.
Moreover, Hava acts as a wireless TV tuner for Media Center PC (Windows XP Media Center Edition )Hava’s price is $299 with special discounts for the initial launch. Hava will be available in retail stores marketed by major OEMs this fall.
