Industry leading small business VoIP provider Vocalocity announced today that it will bring on Steven Byrd as VP of Business Development. With experience in sales management, marketing, and business development, Byrd brings more than 25years of industry know-how to this new position.

Byrd comes to Vocalocity from Witness Systems, the leading global provider of enterprise workforce optimization for contact centers, branch and back office productivity.

With more than 25 years in the software industry, Steve has a broad range of experience in sales management, marketing and business development. After joining Witness Systems in November 1999 to run the Southern US Sales, and in 2001 went on to build and manage the company’s global channels and alliances. During Steve’s tenure in Global Channels, Witness saw its indirect business grow from 2% of revenue to greater than 38%.

Prior to Witness, Steve worked with Infinium Software, a leading provider of integrated enterprise business solutions and services, where he was vice president of channels. Other positions include serving as vice president of sales and marketing for BT Squared Technologies; business development and sales management roles with Attachmate Corporation (the successor company to DCA); and sales management, alliances and marketing management positions with Dun & Bradstreet Software (the successor to MSA).
