Smart Financial Credit Union, a Houston-based, full-service financial services provider, is pleased to announce the launch of a new, enhanced web site (http://www.smartcu.org ) focused on providing educational material to its members to help improve their financial well-being.
The new web presence is the product of many months of research, planning, and implementation to better serve the more than 77,000 Smart Financial members and countless potential members.
“As a company, we are focusing on convenience and service to drive member relationships,” says Mike Warrell, SVP Member Service at Smart Financial. “In late 2009, our positioning strategy shifted to opening new communication channels to allow members to contact Smart Financial when, where, and how they want – ‘Membership Equals Freedom.’ The redesign of our web site was the first step in supporting this new strategy.”
In addition to providing traditional product and service information, the new ‘smartcu.org’ offers a more interactive and user-friendly experience. A variety of new and exciting features have been added, including:
- An online community with social media connections to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr
- Smart Center - an online classroom where users can get educated and informed through articles, videos, podcasts and a member-driven forum
- The Lending Center - a one-stop shop for all lending needs, including loan product and rate information, calculators and more
- Special sections designed for Smart Financial’s education and medical professionals with customized content specific to their needs
- And much more.
“We wanted this new delivery channel to be easy to navigate, provide education, connect the credit union within the new social media realms, and provide the background analytics that will help us make decisions to improve member service going forward,” adds Warrell. “We are very pleased to have met all of these conditions with our new web site.”
