Blended Search is here to stay
Redding, CT (PRWEB) January 15, 2009
Blended Search - also known as Universal Search, or Search 3.0 - is the practice of search engines returning results that include images, videos, press releases and other content that was previously allocated to "vertical search" results. Today, searchers will find pictures, videos and news releases among their results.
For search engine marketers, this development can be an opportunity - or a threat.
Just how has blended search affected search engine marketing?
To find out more about latest trend in internet marketing, Search Marketing Now presents "Blended Search 2009: Strategies for Large SEO Campaigns," with search industry expert Chris Sherman. The webcast airs at 1 PM Eastern Standard Time, Wednesday, January and is free for all registrants.
With search engines now returning images, news and other non-web content, marketers must adapt. But how do you optimize images? Are press releases now crawled as news? Why is search engine optimization (SEO) more important than ever? How have search engine results pages (SERPs) changed? How do you optimize video for search? (Tip: include URLs in the video itself.)
Chris Sherman addresses these questions - and much more - as he discusses the ways that Blended Search has taken search marketing to the next level.
As the evolution of the search engines moves from just web content to including images and news, "the metaphor of the internet being a large filing cabinet with pages" has broken down, said Sherman. And it's not a passing fad. "Blended Search is here to stay," he said.
Registration and information is available at the Search Marketing Now website. This webcast is sponsored by iProspect.
Chris Sherman is the Executive Editor of Search Engine Land and the Co-Chair of the Search Marketing Expo conference series. He has been covering search engines since 1994.
