Our expansion into Douglasville further solidifies that parents are eager to give their kids the best in specialized services including fun haircuts in a comfortable place that children can call their own. We look forward to being a part of the community and providing a breakthrough salon experience unlike any other.

Natick, MASS. (PRWEB) October 12, 2007 -- Building upon its business strategy to meet the high demand for specialized kids haircuts, Snip-its (www.snipits.com) the fastest growing franchise of children's hair salons in the U.S., is scheduled to launch its 60th location in Douglasville, Georgia on October 18, 2007.

Located at 2985 Chapel Hill Road, the 1400 sq. ft. salon marks a milestone for the company that was started by first-time entrepreneur Joanna Meiseles in 1995 after a heartbreaking salon visit with her then young son. In the last year, Snip-its franchised units have grown by 26 percent and now has 42 franchisee operators in 23 states.

"It's been a great new year for Snip-its. We've focused a lot on improving the customer experience and upgrading our services to our franchisees," said Meiseles, the founder and CEO of Snip-its. "Our expansion into Douglasville further solidifies that parents are eager to give their kids the best in specialized services including fun haircuts in a comfortable place that children can call their own. We look forward to being a part of the community and providing a breakthrough salon experience unlike any other."

Similar to the Douglasville location, each Snip-its offers kids a no-tears and fun hair cut experience inside a salon that's weaved with vibrant colors and reminds many consumers of a Saturday morning cartoon. Salons feature casts of Snip-its own branded animated cartoon characters: Snips, Clip-ette Sisters, Curly Comb, Flyer Joe Dryer and Maranga Mirror plus animated gadgets, salon-tailored computer games, and cushy parents chairs situated at every styling station making a visit to Snip-its a positive and fearless adventure for families.

Snip-its Moves in a New Direction
Since last year, Snip-its has embarked on a new focused plan to connect consumers to the brand, improve customer loyalty and to work closely with Snip-its franchisees to ensure their profitability and success. The franchise expanded its field team and hired a support team of experts to provide a higher level of service and tools to fuel growth. In addition, Snip-its lowered its initial investment to start-up a franchisee salon to under $200,000 to become more attractive to the many customers that love the Snip-its concept.

"Like me, many of our franchisees were formerly working or stay-at-home moms that were business savvy and looking for businesses that made a difference in the community," said Meiseles. "With our new processes, we can kinder their entrepreneur spirits toward a successful venture with Snip-its." According to the Center for Women's Business Research in Washington, D.C., there are 10.4 million U.S. firms owned by women in 2006 and 69 percent of those firms are service-related.

"The first time I walked into a Snip-its, I was blown away. Every child was treated as an individual and celebrated for her own personality. It was a unique experience," said Snip-its Douglasville owner, Debbie Weaver. "My 12-year-old daughter encouraged me to open a Snip-its. She knew I was looking to do something new beyond my electronics degree. I wanted to do something fun that made kids feel special and Snip-its reflects that."

Douglasville Location and Ribbon-Cutting
The Douglasville Snip-its is located 15 miles west of Atlanta at the "Chapel Hill Centre," close to Highway I-20. It will feature five cutting stations and a party room for memorable birthday parties and celebrations. Destination birthday parties have become a booming trend for the past few years and Snip-its offers themed events. As a special promotion, the new Douglasville Snip-its is offering $4.00 off regular haircuts and $10.00 off parties with a coupon. A ribbon-cutting event is slated for Thursday, November 8, 2007.

The Snip-its Corporation is based in Natick, Massachusetts and was recognized by Franchise Times Magazine as the 30th fastest growing franchise in the United States. Snip-its salons are designed to untangle the hair-care challenges of children and their parents. Founded by Joanna Meiseles after a heartbreaking salon experience with her then young son, she discovered a business opportunity for salons to cater to children and offer a unique entertainment experience. Today, the company has salons in more than 23 states and provides cuts for nearly one million children annually. For more information, visit www.snipits.com or call 877-SNIP-ITS.
