An article recently posted by The Advocate had featured the up and coming ukulele star, Jake Shimabukuro, as he showed the world the ingenious and brilliant variations of music that can come out of a ukulele. This just goes to show that the four-stringed plucked musical instrument that is deeply identified with in Hawaii is now becoming a global sensation. In line with this, a group called The Sydney North Ukulele Gang, also known as SNUGs, shares its delightful collection of music titled Everybody Plays, Everybody Sings, Everybody Has Fun.
A wonderful anthology of songs sought from SNUGs song writing competition held last March to August of 2012, this book brings to life an eclectic set of musical creativity, which etches a mark in the listener’s subconscious and paves way for an artistic appreciation of the ukulele music. In this riveting work, readers will be taken back to the event’s raging success, a nostalgic representation of how playing the instrument is reaching large-scale popularity. Everybody Plays, Everybody Sings, Everybody Has Fun is a culmination of songs from the competition and represents the unity created by ukulele players for ukulele players.
An inspiring compilation of musical ingenuity and artistry, this book is the product of the collective effort of every member of SNUGs. Through the enthusiastic influence of Gerard Hackwill, Musical director of SNUGs, the team was able to create a fellowship that not only shares their passion for the ukulele music but also provides others with opportunities to showcase their talents.
A remarkable contribution to the growing fame of the ukulele sensation, this masterpiece is truly a beacon of inspiration in the music industry.
