Video is becoming more popular than ever. According to AllFacebook.com, in July of 2012, over 85% of Internet users viewed at least one video. A big reason for this large amount of views is due to the rising popularity of watching videos on Facebook.

In July, Facebook became the second most viewed video site on the Internet, passing Yahoo! on the list.

"It's not just gaining popularity for consumers, but 60% of CEOs would rather watch an informational video than read text. Here are some other interesting statistics from comScore on video statistics:

  •      85.5 percent of the U.S. Internet audience viewed online video.
  •     The duration of the average online content video was 6.7 minutes, while the average online video ad was 0.4 minutes.
  •     Video ads accounted for 20.7 percent of all videos viewed and 1.6 percent of all minutes spent viewing video online.
