Socious, leading provider of online community software for associations, announced today that it will hold the industry’s first Member Engagement Summit. The one-day event will address the challenges that mid-sized and large associations face engaging members and introduce best practices for using online member communities and social media to increase long-term member engagement.
The Member Engagement Summit will take place Tuesday, May 10th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the conference center at ASAE and The Center for Association Leadership in Washington DC.
“We are very excited to bring this set of all-star thought-leaders to the association community for a day of best practices and idea-sharing around online member engagement. The Member Engagement Summit is an opportunity for executives from mid-sized and large associations to share their experiences with one another and see proven strategies in action,” said Scott Balthazor, CEO of Socious.
Workshops and sessions will cover topics ranging from successful selecting and launching a private member community on an association’s website to measuring member engagement. There will also be sessions on chapter management and effective ways to use social media to engage and track members. Association professionals can register for the Member Engagement Summit at the Socious website or from the Member Engagement LinkedIn group.
“Association leaders have a lot of opportunities for education ranging from technology to governance. We wanted to bring together the industry’s brightest minds around using social networking to get results for membership and marketing professionals. Increasing and maintaining member engagement is one of the primary goals of larger membership organizations,” said Paul Schneider, Senior Vice President at Socious.
The interactive format of the seminar will both provide association executives with tangible member engagement ideas from well-known experts and allow association executives to learn from one another's experience. Member engagement leaders speaking at the event will include: KiKi L'Italien from Delcor’s social media practice; Peggy Hoffman, CAE, of Mariner Management & Marketing; and Lindy Dreyer from SocialFish.
