For now it is business as usual. Gorell is open for business and ready to accept orders to continue delighting its customers with the great products they are accustomed to.

Soft-Lite LLC, a leading maker of replacement windows and doors, is buying the assets of Gorell Windows & Doors LLC, which went into receivership in early February.
“We are very excited about this acquisition and what it means for our company,” Soft-Lite President Roy Anderson said. “It will allow Soft-Lite to expand its operations to better service our existing customers, to further grow our network of dealers and distributors, and to offer a broader range of products and sales tools to our customers.”
Specific terms of the all-cash deal, which includes the Gorell name, were not disclosed. Turnaround firm The Meridian Group will run Gorell for the foreseeable future as Soft-Lite decides the fate of its long-time competitor’s Indiana, Pa., facility and its 250+ employees.
"These are very good people at Gorell and hopefully something can work out in the long term," Anderson said.
"For now it is business as usual. We have met with all the employees and everyone is onside to make the new venture successful," he said. “Gorell is open for business and ready to accept orders to continue delighting its customers with the great products they are accustomed to.”
Soft-Lite will offer the same warranty on the Gorell products it manufactures and sells, Anderson said, adding the Ohio-based company also is committed to working on Gorell’s warranty obligations.
The deal highlights both companies’ strengths.
“It is a testament to the quality of Gorell’s product, brand and employees that we were able to find a buyer as quickly as we did," said Margaret Good of The Meridian Group. "When combined with Soft-Lite’s stellar reputation in the industry, we believe this transaction is the best possible result.”
Soft-Lite offers a diverse product line, including fiberglass entry door systems, bay windows, all welded storm doors, new woodgrain laminates, and colored vinyl windows. Visit Soft-Lite’s website for details on the Ohio-based company’s replacement windows and doors.
