SCL a leading UK based software and services company, today announced that Intune Networks, a leading provider of network equipment for tunable networks has selected the CodeSonar static analysis software, from GrammaTech to detect and eliminate bugs and ensure the reliability of its C and C++ code.

“We have implemented CodeSonar as part of our build process to ensure the quality of our application software”, said, Colin Wilkinson, VP of Software Development at Intune Networks. Wilkinson went on to say, “Using CodeSonar means we can catch any defects early in the development cycle which dramatically reduces the amount of time we spend in our test cycles”

Alan Hall Managing Director of SCL said “It’s good to see companies like Intune Networks who take a thorough approach to delivering quality code in their applications increase their adoption of CodeSonar in their development process.”

CodeSonar, is a static source code analysis tool for C and C++ that finds bugs in source code at compile time. CodeSonar works by performing a complete interprocedural analysis on your source code and identifies bugs that can result in serious issues such as system crashes and memory corruption. CodeSonar finds bugs at compile time that can often take weeks to identify with traditional testing.
CodeSonar is easy to integrate with existing build processes, in this case QCC which is part of the QNX Momentics development environment and simply required a re-compile of the source code to gather the data required to perform the analysis. CodeSonars incremental analysis capability ensures that a re-run of the analysis is fast because it only has to analyse the code that has changed between analyses
