Software company Anahata Technologies ratifies Java platform as the technology of choice despite recent security concerns.

The director stated: “Our company develops software solutions for the enterprise and small and medium local businesses. The recent security vulnerabilities found on the Java Runtime Environment were only related to the usage of Java Applets, or in other words, Java used as a web browser plugin. All our enterprise applications are deployed as either a cross platform desktop interface using Swing and JavaFX or server side generated HTML and Javascript. If a security vulnerability is found in the browser plugin of the Java Runtime Environment, our customers can disable the execution of Java in the browser without impacting the usage of our system within their business. We deploy Java EE desktop applications via Java Web Start and that doesn’t require the Java Web browser plugin to be enabled either. In summary, none of the so called ‘critical’ security vulnerabilities has impacted the execution of our applications”

Anahata will continue to develop custom built enterprise applications on the Standard Edition (SE) and Enterprise Edition (EE) of Oracle’s Java Technology.
