On 10th Feburary 2013, Pablo Rodriguez Pina, founder and co-director of the Perth (Australia) based software company Anahata Technologies Pty Ltd made a statement announcing Anahata's position on JavaFX usage and how JavaFX running on mobile devices with iOS and Android Operating Systems would make the Java platform the most reusable technology for client to server deployments.
The director announced it would the company would invest in JavaFX training and highlighted the potential benefits JavaFX on mobile would bring to different parties in the software development industry.
Regarding the benefits for software vendors: "We are aware of the efforts Oracle, Oracle Partners and the Open Source community are making towards bringing JavaFX to mobile devices. If these efforts are successful, software vendors around the world would be able to use one single code base to deliver applications for mobile devices running iOS, Android or Windows RT, desktop computers and laptops."
Regarding the commercial benefits of such an achievement, he stated "The same application could be offered on the Mac App Store, Android Play, Windows Store and could be downloaded from a web browser to run on any desktop or laptop computer running Microsoft Windows, Mac OS or increasingly popular desktop Linux distribution such as Ubuntu or Linux Mint. This would allow software vendors to direct their efforts on user oriented aspects of the software development process such as application design and functionality rather than portability. Applications would be available to a larger customer based and it would be easy to maintain. In this scenario, code or libraries originally written for use within a particular mobile applications could then be reused on a server like it happens when developing applications for the Android platform."
Regarding the benefits for developers, the director stated: "According to Oracle there are currently 9 million Java Developers around the globe, having JavaFX running on all mainstream mobile platforms would allow them to reuse their existing Java Language skills to develop mobile applications."
