By expanding the Solaris footprint, we're opening the door a little wider for companies – especially those in the public sector, financial services, telecommunications, retail and healthcare – to access the advanced scalability, reliability and virtualization features that are unique to the Solaris OS.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (PRWEB) June 10, 2008
Fujitsu Siemens Computers is among a number of leading global systems vendors to announce it will offer Solaris on x86 systems. Today, the Solaris 10 OS is supported on more than 950 x86/x64 systems and more than 4,000 x86/x64 applications are available for Solaris 10.
"This agreement is great news for customers of both Sun and Fujitsu Siemens Computers and underscores the tremendous demand we've seen building for Solaris on x86 systems. Customers will now have an expanded choice of systems certified to run Solaris as well as a simplified method for purchasing Solaris Subscriptions with PRIMERGY servers," said Rich Green, executive vice president of software for Sun Microsystems.
