Solarsoft Business Systems, a leading provider of enterprise software and IT services to manufacturers worldwide, today announced its manufacturing execution system, Mattec MES, has been selected to provide real-time production monitoring for Norgren, a pneumatic actuator manufacturer in Brookville, Ohio.

Norgren Brookville manufacturers hundreds of parts to serve a variety of applications which require push, pull and rotary motions. Because the production monitoring of these parts had been a manual process, Norgren wanted to reduce these time-consuming tasks and improve the accuracy of its data.

“Mattec will virtually eliminate the need for our machine operators to manually record production data,” says John Janowiecki, Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities Manager at Norgren Brookville. “The time that they’d be spending on manual data collection can now be better utilized, for example, to set up the next machine and prepare the tools.”

“More importantly, the accuracy of the data will be huge for us, as we can better calculate our job costs,” says Janowiecki.”

With installations of the software in its UK operations, Norgren is no stranger to the benefits of Solarsoft and Mattec MES. Norgren Brookville will be the first Mattec MES installation among Norgren’s US locations.

Janowiecki adds, “The Solarsoft people we’ve been working with have been very professional and helpful. The team that came out to do the installation for us made the entire process simple and painless. We were ready in no time.”
