Hand in Hand With Silver Star Families and Soldiers' Angels

Join us and Lend a hand. Together, Soldiers' Angels and Silver Star Families will be giving hand-held entertainment units to our wounded heroes.

(PRWEB) June 27, 2007 -- The Silver Star Families of America, Soldiers' Angels and MilitaryConnection.com have joined forces to lend a hand to our wounded Soldiers across America. Our partnership on this project begins today. Soldiers' Angels, Silver Star Families and MilitaryConnection.com will be providing hand-held entertainment units to our wounded. These games will speed up the healing process for our servicemen and women, as well as entertain them.

"Poly Trauma patients enjoy the games, and increase their hand eye coordination," said Steve Newton, President and Co-founder of the Silver Star Families of America. Patti Patton Bader said, "We want to do everything possible to help these brave men and women". MilitaryConnection.com's President, Debbie Gregory, added, "We are very proud to be a part of this important project."

An article on The Washington Post site quotes the folks at Walter Reed hospital in Washington, DC, who report that videogames make excellent therapy sessions videogames make excellent therapy sessions for soldiers wounded in the war on terror. In addition to the obvious medical benefits of refining motor control via controllers, the entertainment allows soldiers to reconnect to experiences they may have had prior to their combat experiences. Therapists see the games benefiting patients with nearly any kind of injury, including patients with traumatic brain injuries.

Newton said "We are honored to join with Patti Patton Bader, and her wonderful team of Soldiers' Angels and MilitaryConnection.com to put smiles on the faces of our wounded, and to help in any way we can."
