I’m proud of the impact we can have when educators in thousands of schools and districts apply our authors’ work. Beyond the U.S. and Canada, we have made great strides over the past 14 years.
Bloomington, IN (PRWEB) December 12, 2011
Education professional development leader Solution Tree announced today a transition in leadership to accommodate scaling in both national and international markets. This month, Ed Ackerman, chief operating officer at Solution Tree, will additionally take on the role of president, a position previously held by Jeff Jones, who will maintain his role as the organization’s chief executive officer. Douglas Rife, formerly president of Solution Tree Press, will assume the title of president of Solution Tree International, a new role developed to support continued growth abroad.
Since acquiring the company in 1998 with his business partner D.G. Elmore, Jones has held the position of president and CEO of Solution Tree, founded Solution Tree Education Canada, and co-founded Marzano Research Laboratory in Englewood, Colorado, and Hawker Brownlow Professional Learning Solutions in Melbourne, Australia. “I’m proud of the impact we can have when educators in thousands of schools and districts apply our authors’ work. Beyond the U.S. and Canada, we have made great strides over the past 14 years. Under Ed and Douglas’ leadership, I look forward to expanding our reach in the years to come,” said Jones.
Ackerman will be taking on the position of president and chief operating officer, responsible for all day-to-day operations at Solution Tree. He brings a legacy of leadership experience with him, including 23 years of military service and a history with Solution Tree as a vice president and director of institutes. “This transition is a natural step as Solution Tree continues to grow. I am excited to continue to develop my role and the company as a whole,” said Ackerman.
Rife’s new role will support co-publishing partners in Australia, Ireland, Pakistan and Turkey, as well as distributors in 25 countries. “I hope to build upon 25 years of growth in the U.S. and Canada to support our mission and vision for transforming education worldwide and ensuring learning for all,” said Rife, named president of Solution Tree International. Rife has served as president of Solution Tree Press for several years and brings over 35 years in the publishing industry to his new role. In the last year, Solution Tree materials were translated into eight languages, including Indonesian, French, Dutch, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese and Korean.
