We want to introduce people to all the awesome music they aren’t hearing on the radio and traditional streaming websites.

Songspin.FM, a Canadian internet startup, has launched a new website to help make it easier than ever to find great music on the web.
By visiting Songspin.FM, users can discover new bands and songs by choosing a style of music they like. The site will then play a continual stream of music based on that genre. Listeners can save their favorite tracks to a playlist, and even “hate” a track so they never hear it again. The site currently features 12 stations of the most popular musical genres with more on the way.
Songspin.FM has a focus on up and coming independent music, hoping to steer their audience towards musical treasures that more mainstream sites might overlook. According to the sites founders, an important goal is to help promote independent artists and record labels.
“With an abundance of mainstream music services like Spotify and Rdio, it’s easy to hear the music you already know about. But it’s still difficult to discover great new music and bands,” says James Gagan, Songspin.FM co-founder. “We want to introduce people to all the awesome music they aren’t hearing on the radio and traditional streaming websites. This is great for listeners and great for bands hoping to get their music heard.”
Founded in 2011, with headquarters in Victoria, BC, Songspin.FM is run by a small team of music enthusiasts with a love for technology. With the launch of the new site and some buzz building around their product, the team hopes to fulfill their ongoing mission to bring new bands and artists into the spotlight.
