Sonomax® eers™: CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards Best of Innovations Winner in the Headphones Product Category

This is game changing technology and this latest award is validation.

Sonomax® Technologies, Inc. (TSXV: SHH) proudly announces that eers™ custom-fitted earphones have been named as a CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Awards Best of Innovations winner in the Headphones product category. Recognizing outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products, the Innovations awards highlight the future of consumer technology and products. As a Best of Innovations winner, not only was eers chosen as an Innovations honoree, but also named the absolute best technology in the Headphones product category.

eers custom earphones use groundbreaking Sonomax expansion technology paired with the ease and convenience of a simple self-fitting process, SonoFit™, and inserted earphone electronics that one can fit at home. Custom molded to the unique shape of an individual’s ear canal in just four minutes, sculpted eers provide maximum comfort, exceptional sound, and a secure fit even during vigorous activity.

Additionally, the acoustic seal provided by the custom-fit earphones ensures the wearer’s choice of listening does not need to compete with ambient sound, irrespective of the environment. This immersive audio experience helps consumers listen at a fraction of the volume required by generic headphones (on average 30% less), providing the added benefit of reducing the dangers of hearing loss through over exposure.

Redefining the Custom Headphones Experience

Until recently, custom headphones were reserved for professional musicians and required an expensive, lengthy process in a laboratory setting. eers custom-fitted earphones redefine the experience, making high performance custom earphones available to everyone, in the comfort of their own home.

“We are extremely honored to be recognized by CEA and industry leaders as the best in headphones for 2012. The acknowledgment of eers custom-fitted earphones is testament to Sonomax’s role in the future of in-ear products.” said Nick Laperle, President and CEO of Sonomax Technologies Inc.

eers custom-fitted earphones currently offer two sound signatures. The first uses a single tuned dynamic speaker that delivers enhanced bass response without sacrificing speaker performance. The speaker and bass reflex generate a rich sound with bass enhanced clarity and vivid sound. The second sound signature uses two dual driver balanced armature speakers with crossover that act similar to most home theater systems. The speaker is tuned to provide a flat musicians response allowing users to listen to music as it was recorded.

Mr. Laperle continued, “To say this past year was a whirlwind would be an understatement. CEA’s recognition of our original sculpted eers earphone solution piqued distribution, retail, OEM and ODM interest and really spurred major developments in the market. This is game changing technology and this latest award is validation.”

The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. It is sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow.
