Timo Spekkens and Thomas Zbornik have produced some of the finest trailer music in the Megatrax library.

Megatrax has added another dimension to its production music offerings with the launch of Sound Adventures from producers Timo Spekkens and Thomas Zbornik. Featuring The Vienna Boys Choir and The Vienna Symphonic, among others, Spekkens and Zbornik expect their catalog to offer a new depth in flexibility for the creative process of applying music to images.
Says Spekkens: “Thomas and I wrote two of the Impact Trailer series for the Megatrax catalog (MX204 Impact Trailers 3, MX164 Impact Trailers 2). When we decided to start our own publishing company, it was a natural move to ‘keep it in the family.’ After cooperating (with Megatrax) for so many years a foundation of trust has grown.”
The Sound Adventures catalog will initially offer five volumes organized into three unique concepts: Movie Matrix – theme related composition groups, Underscore Tools – intros, outros, transitions and versions, and user-friendly Trailer Tools. Adds Spekkens: “Each cue is written with its own unique emotional contour, yet all having some related elements either in melody, harmony, or rhythm. When edited, the music will sound as if custom scored for this particular project.”
Megatrax Director of Production Wendie Colter is pleased to announce the collaboration with Spekkens and Zbornik, saying: “We are very excited to present the work of these talented composers with a catalog that is truly exceptional and unique in both quality and concept. We know our clients will be thrilled with it!”
Adds Megatrax CEO Ron Mendelsohn: “Timo Spekkens and Thomas Zbornik have produced some of the finest trailer music in the Megatrax library. They are truly masters at producing extraordinary cinematic soundtracks, and this new collection showcases the full range of their talents.”
Megatrax will be officially unveiling the catalog at the National Association of Broadcasters show in April with an in-booth event on Monday, April 16 (Booth # SL7912).
