SPAR Point Group with New Leadership, New Direction for 2012

SPAR Point Group, long-time operator of the worldwide SPAR conferences and SPARPointGroup.com, the premiere venues for information about the technology and business of 3D data capture, is proud to announce the appointment of Lisa Murray to the position of Director, SPAR Point Group. She will be charged with taking SPAR to new heights, after a 2011 that saw more people attend SPAR conferences than any other year, and the launch of a brand-new web site that attracts more than 12,000 visitors a month.

“We’re very excited to have Lisa in this new position,” said Mike Lodato, VP at Diversified Business Communications, SPAR’s parent company, and an operator of hundreds of events around the globe. “She has a long history of launching successful events in international markets. Lisa and her team have already implemented changes that will positively impact the events and we look forward to additional developments as she takes the reins of the SPAR brand and moves it considerably forward.”

Murray’s appointment comes on the heels of a 2011 that saw SPAR innovate in a variety of ways, adding live demonstrations to its conference programming and drastically expanding its coverage of the 3D data capture marketplace, something that will only continue in 2012. Key team member and Conference Manager Linda McLaughlin has delivered winning SPAR conference content for the last four years. 2012 will be no exception. Linda, along with SPAR’s esteemed Advisory Board and Conference Track Chairs represent expertise in all areas of the market and are hard at work designing the SPAR International 2012 program, featuring a slew of live demos and real-world exercises.

Presentations for the International event, to be held in Houston, April 15-18, already include a case study surrounding documentation of damage using mobile mapping following the Japanese tsunami; insights from the likes of Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin; information from the Oregon and Texas departments of Transportation; and a look at how 3D data is being used to save millions in the petrochemical industry.

On SPARPointGroup.com, you can expect more video, news, analysis, and blogging from executive editor Sam Pfeifle and industry commentators like Justin Toland and Sam Billingsley, both from the industry at large and SPAR events. Site traffic has more than doubled in the first year of its redesign and that figures to continue apace in 2012.
