Spa travelers looking for whole-body rejuvenation this holiday season will find a special holiday spa treatment at Spa Shiki at The Lodge of Four Seasons. Located on Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks, Spa Shiki, one of the Midwest’s top vacation destinations, is now offering an Iyasu Pumpkin Masque and Exfoliation Body Treatment, a seasonal spa service that leaves guests with healthy, glowing skin. Spa Shiki is ranked the Midwest’s top resort spa by Spa Magazine, and SpaFinder Wellness recently honored Spa Shiki with 2012 Reader’s Choice Awards in three categories: Best for Families, Best for Girlfriend Getaways and Bachelorette Parties and Best for Golf.
Spa Shiki is a Japanese-themed resort spa; Iyasu means “to heal” in Japanese.
“The Iyasu Pumpkin Masque and Exfoliation Body Treatment is the perfect holiday treatment to nurture skin. Guests benefit from the natural, rejuvenating properties found in pumpkin, plus a skin-reviving exfoliation using a Supracor mitt, specially engineered to stimulate blood flow and promote cellular renewal,” says Ann Brown, Spa Shiki director.
Using Supracor's fusion-bonded, honey comb technology to apply dry brushing techniques, the treatment starts with a full-body exfoliation that stimulates the lymphatic system and spurs the release of deep toxins. Through this stimulation comes a deep relaxation, as the massage uses the most energetic acupuncture points to relax the muscles and nervous system while rebalancing and strengthening the body’s organs.
While guests are relaxing, this invigorating exfoliation also nourishes and oxygenates the skin by stimulating circulation and bringing blood to the surface. Then the pumpkin body masque, with antioxidants such as vitamin A and beta-carotene, provides whole-body skin rejuvenation, hydration and detoxification. Each of the masque’s ingredients offers additional benefits: coffee extract promotes circulation and blood flow to remove toxins and excess fluids, clove leaf oil adds stimulating and antiseptic properties, and nutmeg kernel oil offers anti-inflammatory properties. Vitamin E replenishes the skin’s natural moisture barriers, and a seaweed-based slimming lotion finishes the treatment to further promote cellular metabolism and detoxification. Spa Shiki guests enjoy a scalp and ear massage while the masque penetrates.
Spa Shiki’s Iyasu Pumpkin Masque & Supracor Exfoliation is 80 minutes long ($225, with a special holiday offer of $60 off) and is only available through Dec. 31, 2012. For more information, visit http://www.spashiki.com or call 573-365-8108.
