Specialty Cinema helps the Embassy Theatre in Wellington, New Zealand prepare for world premier of The Hobbit

Specialty Group Pty Ltd is proud to announce that its Specialty Cinema division has installed a new 3D cinema screen and front-of-house curtain at the Embassy Theatre in preparation for the world premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The eyes and ears of the world will be set upon the iconic Embassy Theatre in Wellington when it hosts the eagerly anticipated World Premiere of Peter Jackson's Hobbit Movie - An Unexpected Journey on Wednesday, November 28th 2012.

Specialty Cinema through its New Zealand subsidiary, Specialty Group Limited, was engaged to supply a unique, Peacock coloured velvet theatre fabric main curtain in preparation for the world premier of The Hobbit.

To compliment the stunning new curtains, a heavy-duty stage curtain track system was installed as well as a new 3D silver screen from Strong MDI Screens. The screen has a 1.6 gain and one of only a handful in the world, which will enhance the glorious 3D image on screen. The Hobbit is showing in 48 frames-per-second exclusively at the Embassy and presented in RealD High Frame Rate 3D (HFR 3D).

Specialty Cinema were proud to assist The Embassy in having this iconic theatre ready in time for the World Premiere. The Embassy Theatre is widely recognised as a place of historical and cultural significance by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust and is the only custom-built 1920's cinema still in use.
